Teacher Institute - Story telling for Kindergarten

Sampoerna Foundation – Teacher Institute cordially invites Kindergarten Principals and Teachers, Parents and Educationist on our Storytelling for Kindergarten Workshop.

Storytelling is a basic skill known to everyone. This skill is based on the innate ability to memorize and speak, which are developed at the early stage of life. Due to storytelling needs only simple innate skills, it can be seen as a powerful and effective tool to be used in teaching.

Furthermore, with appropriate organization, storytelling can also be utilized as a tool to help student in improving their writing skill. Basically, if student is able to deliver a story in detail verbally, they will be able to adopt the story into writing easier. Based on this fact, it is apparent that storytelling is a potential tool to support teaching and learning.

In this workshop, bes id es understanding the basic knowledge of storytelling, we also invite you to implement story telling in improving writing skill and actively using it in teaching with interactive and attractive activities.

FACILITATOR

Rosita Primajani Achmad:
She graduated from Bandung Institute of Technology and continued her study in University of New South Wales. Caring and resourceful teaching professional with more than 5 years of experiences as ESL teacher in ELICOS, EF, Lippo Bank, EEP (Executive English Program), PT. Astro, etc.
She was also involved in designing syllabus and courses in the context of learning English in Indonesia, curriculum design & development, student evaluation & assessment.
She was awarded 1st prize in storytelling BNEC English Olympics, 1st runner up in the Science Fair Project Contest at I.S 77 Queens, N.Y., U.S.A, etc.
Currently, She writes English books for elementary school level.
