The Scottish Informatics and Computer Science Alliance http://www.sicsa.ac.uk <http://www.sicsa.ac.uk/ is a collaboration of leading Scottish Universities whose aim is to work together to consolidate and develop Scotland's position as an international research leader in computer science and informatics. As part of this, the Scottish Graduate Academy in Informatics and Computer Science offers 20 international prize studentships per year to outstanding PhD candidates.
SICSA prize studentships are worth around £18, 000 per year for 3 years. They include support for living expenses of at least £12, 940, research expenses and a contribution towards postgraduate fees at the UK standard Home/EU rate (currently £3315). Students who are not UK/EU residents must pay the higher overseas student fee of around £11,500 per year. If you are awarded a SICSA studentship, you may apply to the admitting university for additional support to cover the difference in fees. The award of a SICSA studentship does not guarantee such support.
These studentships are open to excellent students from any country. There are no residency or citizenship requirements. We will consider applicants in any area of computer science and informatics but may give preference to students who are
working in SICSA theme areas:

* Complex systems engineering
Students must have or must expect to be awarded a 1st class honours degree or an MSc with Distinction or equivalent GPA scores. Your degree must be in a discipline that is relevant to your proposed field of research.

6 PhD Positions in Geology at Lulea TU, Sweden

The Division of Applied Geology is looking for 6 new PhD-students.
Research and education at the Division of Applied Geology is mainly
focused on Environmental Geochemistry. Basic research is combined
with applied projects. The philosophy is that being in the front of
basic research gives a favourable development of methods and skills
useful and necessary in applied research. The applied research aims
at studying and quantifying pollution effects from different
anthropogenic sources, and possible methods to decrease the release
of pollutants and to limit their deleterious effects.
1. Remediation of sulphide-bearing mine waste by using sewage
sludge.
By studies on all scales from laboratory tests, pilot scale studies
and full scale field trials, various types of use of sewage sludge
for remediation of sulphide-bearing mine waste will be develope. The
efficiency on different time scales will be quantified as well as
improvements achieved by mixing of the sewage sludge with other
materials. The research is performed in close collaboration with the
active mining industry.

2. The use of alternativ materials for remediation of sulphide-
bearing mine waste
During remediation of mining waste, the most important goal is to
decrease the inflow of oxygen to the sulphide minerals. This is
usually obtained by applying a sealing layer with so low hydraulic
conductivity that it always has a high degree of water saturation.
Till with a high clay content is commonly used in Sweden. In this
project the use of alternative materials, such as waste from other
industries and activities will be studied. The research is performed
in close collaboration with the active mining industry.

3. Effects of hydropower production on river-near
Hydropower production results in changed water levels in regulated
rivers. Short-term water level changes result in changed eco-systems
close to the rivers, and changed groundwater levels and properties.
The aim of this project is to study the effects of hydropower
production on the geochemistry of river-near groundwater.

4. The use of Cu-isotopes to quantify the role of microbes in
geochemical key reactions such as preciptation and dissolution of
minerals
During the latest years it has become possible to detect and analyse
the small changes in isotopic composition which chemical and
biological processes cause also for stable metals such as Cu. The
research team at Applied geology in Luleå is leading in Sweden in
development of such analyses, and in the development of applications of them. The aim of this project is to develop methods for analyses of Cu-isotopes in different materials, and to use such analyses to quantify the role of microbes in geochemical key reactions such as dissolution and precipitation of minerals in oxidizing mine waste. Also isotopic changes during uptake in plants will be studied.

5. Optimization of surveys of polluted areas
About 1 billion SEK is spent annually in Sweden for surveying and
remediation of polluted areas. The guidances for how to perform

6. Remediation of sulphidic mine tailings using green liquor dregs;
solving two waste problems at the same time Mining results in large amounts of waste, waste rock and mill tailings. If this waste contains sulphide minerals, oxidation may result in the formation of acid mine drainage. The aim of this project is to study if green liquor dredge, an alkaline rest product from the paper industry, can be used as water and oxygen barrier in sealing layers in remediation of mine waste. The green liquor dredge may also buffer acidity produced by the oxidizing sulphides. We are seeking a PhD candidate for the project CRYOSUB: Mountain
Cryosphere Subgrid Parameterization and Computation, starting 1 March
or 1 April 2009.
The expected outcome of this project is a method that allows for
continental-scale modeling of permafrost, snow and glacier mass
balance in mountain areas under present and simulated future climate.
This is important because the mountain cryosphere influences a large
proportion of the global land mass and population, experiences high
rates of climate change and is currently inadequately resolved in
regional climate models due to the dominating influence of sub-grid
variability. This project will provide a proof of concept for the
inclusion of topography sub-grid schemes into climate models as well
as applications of mountain cryosphere models over large mountain ranges.
Applicants are required to have successfully completed a Masters level
degree in a relevant area, e.g., Climatology, Meteorology, Computer
Science, Mathematics, Physics, Computational Geography or Earth
Sciences. Programming skills (low level such as C/FORTRAN and high
level such as Matlab/IDL) and experience with GIS are important
assets. You have a very good standard of written and spoken English
and will be working in a heterogeneous and multi-disciplinary
environment. Mountaineering skills are welcome. You will receive the
standard PhD salary according to the Swiss National Science Foundation.

PhD Studentship - Design and Mission Analysis of Femtosatellites - University of Glasgow

"Design and Mission Analysis of Femtosatellites"
Space Advanced Research Team, Department of Aerospace Engineering
The Space Advanced Research Team at the University of Glasgow is currently seeking a PhD student to investigate the "Design and Mission Analysis of Femtosatellites"
The project consists of the design and development of femto-satellites with a volume of 1 cm x 1 cm x 1 cm and a weight of approximately 10 grams. These very tiny satellites are expected to be mainly made of stacked silicon microchips. Some microchips will be responsible for very specific tasks necessary for the survival of the mission (for example, communication, attitude control, etc.), whereas other microchips will form the scientific payload (for example, embedded microcameras, radiation detectors, etc.) These femto-satellites have the potential to drastically lower the costs of space missions and increase the frequency of the launches. Furthermore, the possibility of having a huge number of femto-satellites (more than 1,000) at a reasonable manufacturing price (less than £200 each) will increase the overall mission reliability (losing some of them will not jeopardize the overall mission objectives). It will also allow the conception of new mission scenarios and the assembly of large structures in space consisting of thousands of small elements (for example, interferometric antenna arrays, synthetic aperture radars, etc.) The doctoral student selected for this project will have to take into account not only the design trade-offs of present microelectronic technology, but also the mission design and analysis trade-offs applicable to space applications. In this process, it is expected that the doctoral student will be able to produce some advances in the state-of-the-art of this interdisciplinary field of research since the present design rules of small satellites cannot be directly applied to the design and development of femto-satellites due to the severe constraints in size and power consumption.
The PhD candidate for this post will hold an upper 1st class degree in either aerospace engineering or electrical & electronics engineering. The successful applicant will have good analytical and modelling skills, and good knowledge of microprocessors and/or space mission analysis and design. Enthusiasm and determination in exploring original ideas as well as good team spirit are desirable qualities of the successful candidate. A very good spoken and written English is essential.
Each Scholarship will run for 4 years, cover all tuition fees (EU or overseas) and provide the successful student with a stipend at the Research Council recommended rates (£12,940 for 2008/09). On top of this the project benefits from £5,300 per year research costs.
The project will start between January 2009 and April 2009.

Applications are invited for a postgraduate studentship, funded by the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology Global Research Partnership [KAUST GRP], to work on "Mathematical modelling of self-propelled cell motion on biomaterial surfaces" under the supervision of Dr Jim Oliver, Dr Sarah Waters (OCIAM) and Dr Jonathan Whiteley (CBG). This DPhil studentship will start on 1 October 2009, is available to all nationalities, covers maintenance and full overseas fees and will be based in the newly established Oxford Centre for Collaborative Applied Mathematics (OCCAM).
OCCAM has been established with substantial funding from the KAUST GRP.
The Centre, which is part of the Mathematical Institute, will be allied
to a global network of mathematicians. Aiming to meet the ever-increasing global demand for quantitative understanding of complex
scientific phenomena, OCCAM has been built on the strength of four
pre-existing groups of applied and computational mathematicians working in Oxford: the Oxford Centre for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, the Centre for Mathematical Biology, the Numerical Analysis Group and the Computational Biology Group. It has a symbiotic relationship with other scientific communities which have a need for problem-solving mathematics both within the University of Oxford and beyond. Over the first fiveyears the centre will employ 40 new staff and students. The successful colonization of a medical implant device depends on theearly response of the host's cells to the implant surface. The commercial development of the next generation of devices will therefore benefit from a more quantitative understanding of the mechanisms involved in the adhesion and migration of a single mammalian cell over a biomaterial surface. We have developed two long-wavelength multiphase reactive flow models of the cell's motile machinery. The models are based on poroviscous generalizations of the thin-film equation in lubrication theory and of the Trouton equations in extensional flow theory. The main aims of this project are: (i) to develop robust numerical algorithms to solve the two-dimensional versions of these challenging free boundary problems; and (ii) to calibrate and test their predictions by direct comparison with data from the in vitro cell systems obtained by our experimental collaborators.

Metal-organic frameworks for hydrogen purification

Funding is available for a PhD studentship in the School of Engineering and Electronics, University of Edinburgh for a collaborative project with the School of Chemistry, University of St Andrews. Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) constitute one of the most exciting developments in recent nanoporous-materials science, with potential applications in many areas, including catalysis, gas separation and storage. The major advantage of MOFs over more traditional porous materials, such as zeolites, is the greater scope for tailoring these materials for specific applications due to their modular synthesis from corner units (generally metal ions or clusters) and linker units (organic molecules able to bridge the metal corners).
The project
Hydrogen is a potential future automotive fuel as well as an important industrial feedstock. For fuel-cell applications, as well as in many industrial processes, high purity is required. The hydrogen required can be produced either by generating it from steam reforming or methanol cracking processes or by recovering it from hydrogen-rich process streams by adsorbing the impurities using pressure swing adsorption. Such streams are readily available in refineries and petrochemical plants and are sometimes burnt as a waste stream. The scope of this project is to design new adsorbents for hydrogen purification using computational and experimental methods.
The studentship
The studentship is available immediately for a period of 4 years. The studentships provide a tax-free EPSRC stipend (currently £12,600 per annum), plus university fees at the Home / EU rate. Additional funding might be available to cover the overseas fees for highly qualified non-EU citizens.
For this project, collaboration between the chemical engineers at the University of Edinburgh and the chemists at the University of St Andrews is a very important element and the successful candidates will spend significant periods of time at the partner institutions, learning about material synthesis and characterisation. The ability to be a team player and to work in close collaboration with a team of chemical engineers and chemists is therefore essential.
The successful candidates will have a first class or 2.1 degree, or equivalent, in chemical engineering, chemistry, physics, or a related subject. As the project contains a substantial computational element, some programming experience in FORTRAN or a similar programming language is desirable though not essential.

PhD Scholarships - Giessens University Germany

Giessen University's *International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC)*, funded by the German federal government's Excellence Initiative, offers a three-year structured PhD-programme in the study of culture. With its excellent research environment, a doctoral programme which is tailored to the needs of PhD students and the intensive personal support it provides, the Graduate Centre offers postgraduate students optimum conditions for their PhD-projects and a custom-made preparation for the time thereafter, both with regard to academic and non-academic careers.

PhD scholarships include a monthly stipend of approximately €1000 and are offered for one year with the possibility of two extensions, each of a year.
Scholarships commence on October 1st, 2009.

Acceptance of a scholarship requires participation in the study programme and the wide-ranging events offered by the GCSC, as well as active involvement in at least one GCSC graduate research group. Scholarship holders must register as PhD students at Justus Liebig University. There are no tuition fees for doctoral students at JLU, except for an enrolment fee of approximately €200 per semester. Scholarship holders are expected to take up residency in or near Giessen.

The GCSC encourages applications from graduate students who have or expect to obtain a first or upper second class honours M.A.-degree (or equivalent) in one of the GCSC's academic subjects* or in the arts/humanities, cultural studies, or social sciences. Fluency in either English or German is required.

The main selection criteria are the candidates' academic qualification, the academic quality of the research proposal and the suitability of the project for the GCSC's research programme. How To Find a Great College Scholarship For You

When you are looking for a college scholarship, you will find to your dismay that you are certainly not alone. There is no shortage of people who want a good education and when you go looking for a good scholarship, you are going to find that the competition is quite fierce. There are scholarships for many different majors and studies, for people of every background, and you will find that no matter how hard you look that there are still going to be things that you need to think about.
In many ways, the situation for students who are going to college now is more dire than it has been in a while. Due to the economic crunch, many loaning institutions are closing their doors when it comes to student loans, and scholarships seem to be the way to go. There are plenty of ways that scholarships are preferable, after all. In the first place, they do not have to be paid back when you graduate, and in the second place, they are specifically geared towards helping you get the right kind of support.

Too many students feel hopeless when it comes to getting a college scholarship. After all, we can't all be valedictorian and when it comes right down to it, our grades could have been better, and all kinds of things you kick yourself about in retrospect. But there is also a good chance that you fall into that gray area where you do not qualify for financial aid but paying for college is still not an option. However, you don't need to be an academic whiz kid or have financial need to get a lot of scholarships.

The issue is that scholarships are often not supplied by people who publicize them, and when you think about it, it makes sense. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) has been used by teachers to accommodate learning process in real-life situations, hence increasing the learning outcomes of the students. WebQuest uses similar concepts of PBL, hence makes teaching and learning to be more interesting and engaging for both teachers and students.

The Berlin Graduate School for Transnational Studies (BTS), a joint endeavour of the Freie Universität Berlin (FUB), the Hertie School of Governance (HSoG) and the Social Science Center Berlin (WZB), announces its next call for applications for its full-time PhD programme. All three are leading institutions in the field of political science and its neighbouring disciplines. The programme draws upon their faculty, research projects, facilities and services.
The three-year English language doctoral programme is designed for exceptionally talented and motivated graduate students. It offers state-of-the-art survey classes, a strong training in research methods and research design, skills courses and individualized supervision. While the courses and training present an important part of the curriculum, the bulk of the workload for the PhD candidates in the programme will be in the form of independent research for their dissertations.
The successful applicants will be informed in the first half of April 2009 in order to enter to the doctoral programme in September of the same year. The three-year programme has a strong focus on social science theories and methods but also welcomes applications from adjacent disciplines like economics, history, law, and area studies. Dissertation topics should refer to one of the following three areas of concentration broadly defined:
* The analysis of national and transnational causes and consequences of political, societal and cultural globalization.
* The challenges to governance in international and transnational settings including issues of politization and legitimacy, as well as in areas of limited statehood.
* The comparative study of regional cooperation, including the EU.

2 PhD Positions in LBS at University College Dublin, Ireland

 

The School of Computer Science and Informatics at University College Dublin
(http://www.csi.ucd.ie) has two open funded PhD positions in the areas of geospatial personalization and visualization for LBS under the supervision of Dr.
Michela Bertolotto.
The research relevant to the first position will focus on the development of techniques to ascertain users' spatial interests by implicitly monitoring their interaction with a spatial dataset via a mobile user interface.  User interest models can be built by analyzing this information and used to generate personalized spatial datasets and interfaces. The second position relates to the use of visual techniques for effective analysis of spatial data in LBS.

The scholarships are funded within an SFI (http://www.sfi.ie) awarded Strategic Research Cluster in Advanced Geotechnologies (http://www.StratAG.ie). The Cluster is a consortium of schools/departments from National University of Ireland Maynooth (NUIM), Trinity College Dublin (TCD), the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) and University College Dublin (UCD).

PhD & Postdoctoral positions at Radbound University

Several PostDoc and PhD positions in astrophysics, radio astronomy
and astroparticle physics at Radboud University in Nijmegen, the
Netherlands.
Due to a large grant from the European Research Council (ERC) and
other national sources (NWO/NOVA), several PostDoc and PhD positions
covering a wide range of topics are or are expected to be available
over the next year.
The radio astronomy and astroparticle physics of the Radboud
University group is heavily involved in commissioning and
exploitation of the new low-digital radio telescope LOFAR, the
biggest of its kind in the world. Also, the group is a collaborator
of the Pierre Auger observatory.
The LOFAR activities focus on three of the main Key Science
projects. In particular the positions are available in the following
areas: 1) the direct detection of Ultra-High energy cosmic rays
(UHECRs) and neutrinos in air and on the moon, 2) the search for
sources of ultra-fast astrophysical radio bursts, and 3) all-sky
radio surveys of radio sources with particular emphasis on potential
UHECR sources.
The Auger activities involve the design and construction of a newly
funded radio detector array for Auger as well as composition and
clustering analysis of UHECRs.
We are looking for exceptional candidates who are strongly motivated
to pursue a rigorous research program with top international
astrophysical facilities. The candidates are expected to have a
solid background in physics, astrophysics, and/or astroparticle
physics and be able to work and interact in a multidisciplinary
international team. Additional skills such as software development
(c++/python), Monte Carlo simulations, radio astronomy data
analysis, or electronics design and development can be useful.
The campus of the Radboud University, hosting 17.500 students, is
located within a few biking minutes of the downtown area of the
lively city of Nijmegen, the oldest in the Netherlands. The city is
close to the German border and major city centers in the Netherlands
and Germany (e.g., Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam, the Ruhrgebiet,
Cologne) are within about an hour's drive. The young and rapidly
growing astronomy department at the Radboud University offers a
pleasant and collegial work environment. It is firmly embedded in
the NL astronomy community through the national top research school
NOVA. There are strong ties with the local high-energy physics
department, as well as with national research institutes in
Astronomy and particle physics, such as ASTRON, NIKHEF, and KVI.

DEGREE COURSE IN PHOTOGRAPHY

The course is three years in duration, leading to a Degree of Bachelor in Photography. The training combines practice with theory, and involves the cooperation of guest lectures and tutors, Swedish and overseas photographers, critics and artists. Representation
photography is the main theme of the whole period of education.

During the first year students are given a theoretical and technical basis in photography. During the second and third years the training is freer in character. The second year includes an extensive group project, as well as an external project in which students have the chance to test their knowledge and skills outside the School.
The third year is largely devoted to major individual projects.

Fifteen students each year are accepted for the degree course in photography.

MASTERS' DEGREE IN PHOTOGRAPHY
The course allows students to develop their own language of expression in photography, to acquire advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the areas of contemporary photography and related media, as well as building up active responses to the aesthetic and philosophical theories of the 20th century.

The first year is devoted to studies in 20th century aesthetic theory, philosophy and art criticism. At the same time students work om minor projects of their own and take part in teaching conducted by guest lectures. During the second year students work on their own major projects and complete a thesis-type essay. In both the years of the course there is training in teaching methods, in the form of both tutorial and lecturing techniques.

Each year seven students are accepted for the Master's course.

THE SCHOOL OF PHOTOGRAPHY - AIMS
The School (HFF) is a state-financed department of Art within the Fine Arts faculty of Göteborg University - the largest Fine Arts faculty in Scandinavia. It is a spearhead for photography. The general policy for the work of the School favours free, individual creativity.

The aim of the School is to raise the quality and increase the breadth and diversity of photography in Sweden.

This means that the development of photographic means of expression is to be given priority. Wide variation is encouraged so that the work is able to comprise advanced artistic experiment as well as everyday projects in contact with the prevailing reality of the media. Teaching is conducted in an investigative and critical spirit, against the background of photographic traditions, with openness to all the new possibilities offered by technological development and new theories. The School sees it as its task to acknowledge and deepen the artistic aspirations of its students. The students are to acquire knowledge and skills that will make them an asset to cultural lige and the labor market. The School seeks to stimulate the unexpected and the unconventional, and by doing so to influence public thinking and discussion, to broaden cultural views and attitudes towards photography.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS AND SELECTION
Applicants for all degree courses at the School of Photography must be qualified for university entrance.
Applicans for the Master's degree must have completed a university degree in photography or hold an equivalent qualification.
The most important grounds for selection are artistic and technical skills in photography. Selection is based on samples of work submitted and interviews.

Language of instruction is Swedish.

The School of Photography is open for International Exchanges. But we only accept applications from students that wish to start in the Autumn (at the end of August); it is not possible to start an Exchange during the Spring Semester.

Through its TRIL Programme operating under an agreement with the National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics (OGS), ICTP will offer, for the years 2009 and 2010, a number of grants to scientists from Developing Countries (including Central and Eastern Europe) interested in taking part in the training and research activities carried out at the OGS laboratories. The main lines of activity at the OGS groups are described in the announcement for the fellowships.

National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics

The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (the Abdus Salam ICTP) and the National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics (OGS) will offer in the years 2009 - 2010 a number of grants to scientists from Developing Countries (Central and Eastern Europe included) interested in taking part in the training and research activities carried out at the OGS laboratories. The main lines of activity at the OGS groups are described in the Annex.
The minimum amount of these grants will be Euro 1,350 per month and stays longer than twelve months may be possible. Limited funds for travel expenses will be available in case these are not covered by other sources. Health insurance coverage will be provided for visitors and their accompanying family members. A monthly family allowance for those having dependant family members will be granted.

Forms of cultural attention



Applications are invited for one or more Ph.D.-scolarships within the research theme Forms of Cultural Attention: In modern information society attention has become a cultural focal point. This applies to visibility sought in quiz and reality shows, on blogs, and by communication consultants. And it applies to unwanted visibility created through electronic surveillance, bugging, and surveys. These forms of attention expose the individual to the gaze of others and differ from attention given to a citizen stating his or hers views in the public and for a political community.

Projects within the research theme should theoretically and analytically investigate how forms of culture shape and comment upon collective attention across frontiers and historical periods. In general projects should contribute to the understanding of how forms of cultural attention focus certain aspects of the world and leave others unattended. Specifically, projects should contribute to the understanding of how artistic practices in the present and in historical perspective have shaped and commented upon cultural attention.

Medieval and/or early-modern Scandinavian textual studies

At CST we investigate methods and tools for creation, annotation and exploitation of language resources, in particular for Danish, but also for other languages. Storytelling is a basic skill known to everyone. This skill is based on the innate ability to memorize and speak, which are developed at the early stage of life. Due to storytelling needs only simple innate skills, it can be seen as a powerful and effective tool to be used in teaching.

The Faculty of Chemistry, University of Warsaw offers a new international PhD program: "From simple molecules to nanostructured and bioactive materials", supported by European Union and the Foundation for Polish Science.

Duration of the program is 4 years, including 6-24 months spent abroad in the Partner research institutions. Students from all countries are invited to apply - up to 18 students will be admitted. A fellowship of 3000 PLN/month (tax-free) + 500 PLN/month (insurance) is offered, which compares well with the average salary in Poland. An additional allowance of 1500 PLN /month will be provided for the stay at the foreign partner institution.

PhD Deformation in thin films

PhD position: Deformation of thin films of NiTi shape memory alloy

Job description
The PhD student will produce NiTi films in a sputter deposition system at TU Delft. In order to find the conditions for 'good' films, he/she will characterize those films by X-ray diffraction, SEM, TEM and EPMA. In collaboration with researchers at Philips MiPlaza in Eindhoven he/she will transfer NiTi films to a flexible substrate. The real interesting part of the project is the micro-mechanical testing inside the SEM at TU Delft. Here it will become clear whether or not there is a relation between thickness and deformability of the films. The PhD student will perform these tests, analyze the data and propose a model for the observed deformation behavior of thin NiTi films.

Although we have a research plan ready for this project, we are willing to deviate from that plan for a better one. Your research initiatives will be strongly appreciated. We also expect a PhD student to supervise undergraduate students in our group. This research project is part of the FOM-M2I programme Size dependent materials properties, in collaboration with five other Dutch University teams.

Research
NiTi (Nickel Titanium) is a shape memory alloy known for its application in satellite hinges, dental fixtures, and spectacle frames. Only recently NiTi has been prepared as a thin film.

In the present project the suitability of NiTi as metallization for flexible electronics will be investigated. For this application the deformation of NiTi films is of crucial importance. Shape memory metals exhibits pseudo-elasticity. This pseudo-elasticity allows bulk NiTi to be strained reversibly up to 6%.

Other work on thin film metallization for flexible electronics has demonstrated a huge thickness dependence of the 'strain to failure' for gold films. Thin gold films can be stretched far more than thick films, due to the coupling to the flexible substrate.

The successful candidate is an experimental scientist who holds a masters degree in physics or materials science, preferably with experience in thin films or advanced analytical techniques. The successful candidate interacts easily with scientists from various disciplines and institutes.
