PhD Fellowship at THE UNIVERSITY OF BARCELONA

A 4-year PhD fellowship (FPI program) funded by the Ministerio de Ciencia eInnovaciĆ³n from Spain is available. This fellowship is linked to a MICINN funded project (AGL2009-07006/ACU) entitled “Physiological consequences ofexercise in trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss): effects on muscle growth, immunesystem and reproduction (SWIMMING TROUT)”. The student will conductstudies that aim at describing the molecular and cellular effects of swimmingexercise on skeletal muscle growth, the immune response and reproduction in therainbow trout. The candidate will join the Molecular Physiology Group at theSchool of Biology, University of Barcelona, Spain, a dynamic research group ledby Dr. Josep V. Planas that is currently composed of two postdoctoral researchersand three PhD students.
